The Kickback Program offers a cutting-edge multimedia experience to 8th-12th graders. This innovative afterschool initiative empowers students to plan, manage, and execute an engaging online talk show designed for a teenage audience. Within this multimedia endeavor, Kickback participants collaborate to produce a captivating weekly talk show, featuring a dynamic youth host and support team. The show delves into the everyday challenges faced by teenagers in our community, offering insights and guidance.
Through the power of multimedia, we actively involve underserved youth, equipping them with valuable skills in creative writing, interpersonal communication, broadcast platform development, community engagement, and social media outreach. The program's overarching goal is to nurture essential attributes among teenagers, including healthy habits, positive relationships, resilience, social competence, effective coping strategies, and heightened self-esteem.
By participating in the Kickback Program, teenagers not only acquire multimedia skills but also enhance their capacity to make responsible choices, resist negative influences, and steer clear of risky behaviors. This multifaceted approach prepares them for a brighter future while harnessing the potential of multimedia as a tool for personal growth and community engagement.
